When you use Haven services to find, buy, rent, or sell a home, explore land, connect with a real estate professional, or manage a rental, we know you are trusting us with your data. We take that responsibility seriously. This Privacy Notice explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it, along with the tools you can use to manage your privacy.
This Privacy Notice applies to users in the United States, Kenya, and other countries where we operate across Africa and worldwide. Where local law gives you rights we cannot limit by contract, those rights still apply.
Who we are
Haven offers services that focus on stages of your property journey: searching, renting, buying, selling, listing, and connecting with professionals.
We know that everyone’s home journey is different, and that deciding on the right place to call home is a personal experience. Along with information about homes, neighborhoods, market conditions, and professionals, we use the information you give us to provide and improve our services and help you on your property journey.
When we use “Haven,” “Haven Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in this Privacy Notice, we mean Haven, Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, and brands (and their successors) that link to this notice.
Our offerings
When we use “offerings” or “services,” we mean our websites, mobile applications, and other services that link to this Privacy Notice and that we offer and manage, including:
- Our corporate and marketplace websites that link to this Privacy Notice;
- Rental services, such as applications, tours, or payments where offered;
- Connections (such as connecting you to an agent, lender, property manager, or builder); and
- Other offerings we may make available through our sites and apps.
This Privacy Notice does not cover or address:
- Affiliated entities or brands that maintain their own privacy notices, unless those notices state otherwise;
- Disclosures or rights we may provide in relation to credit reporting, financial services, or lending laws where Haven offers regulated products under separate terms;
- Offerings we provide solely on behalf of our business partners; and
- Personal data relating to job applicants, employees, and other Haven personnel.
For offerings provided by our customers who are real estate professionals (such as agents, builders, lenders, and property managers), please refer to the privacy notice of the professional with whom you have a relationship for information on how they engage us to process your personal data.
What is personal data?
When we use “personal data” in this Privacy Notice, we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to an individual or household. It does not include aggregated or de-identified information maintained in a form that cannot reasonably be associated with or linked to you or another individual.
Our collection and use of personal data
The personal data we collect, how we collect it, and how we use it depends on how you interact with us and which services you use. We also collect personal data automatically when you use our websites and apps, and may collect personal data from other sources and third parties.
Information you give us or create using our services
When you use our services, register for an account, or contact us, we may collect:
Account registration and profile information: Email address, username, password, internal account identifiers, account history, login activity, transactions, messages, and activity on our websites and apps. We use this to create and administer your account, provide services, communicate with you, and provide customer support.
Feedback information: Contact information and reviews, ratings, or comments about our services or professionals. We use this to improve our services and respond to you.
Inquiries and communications: Name, email, phone number, account history, and the content of your messages (including call or chat recordings or transcripts where permitted by law). We use this to respond to inquiries and operate our business. If you represent a company interested in partnering with us, we may also collect professional and employment information.
Geolocation data: General location from your IP address or device, and more precise geolocation (e.g., GPS) if you permit it through device settings—for example, to show properties near you. See Choices about your data to withdraw permission.
Newsletters and email: Email address for marketing or service communications. You can opt out as described in Choices about your data.
Payment information: Transaction details processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
We may also receive information from business partners, service providers, and other third parties who collect it on our behalf.
Information we collect as you use our services
We and our service providers automatically collect information when you visit or interact with our services, including search history, listings you view, clicks, time on site, and device information. We use cookies and similar technologies (cookies, pixels, web beacons, mobile SDKs, and logging technologies). Information collected may include:
- How you access our services (referring site, emails opened, links clicked, devices used);
- How you use our services (pages visited, searches, checkout steps, listings viewed);
- Device and log data (IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, unique device or advertising IDs);
- Analytics data (clicks, form interactions, and similar usage signals).
We use this information to improve your experience, personalize content, monitor and improve our services, perform analytics, detect fraud, and plan product development. We and partners may also use this information for interest-based advertising—see Third-party tracking and interest-based advertising below.
Collection from other sources
We may receive personal data from:
- Haven affiliates within our corporate family;
- Authentication services (e.g., Apple, Google, Facebook sign-in), subject to their policies and your settings;
- Business partners such as agents, lenders, builders, and property managers;
- Service providers such as payment processors and marketing providers;
- Information providers to correct or supplement contact information;
- Publicly available sources such as public records or social media you make public.
Other collection
Business representatives: Contact, professional, tax/payment, inquiry, and feedback information from individuals representing partner businesses.
Office and event visitors: Contact, professional, visit, and security information (including ID copies or video where permitted by law) for visitors to our offices or events.
Uses of personal data
We use personal data to:
- Help you find, buy, rent, sell, or list property and connect with professionals;
- Create, maintain, and improve our services, including using machine learning and AI in line with our policies;
- Conduct research and analytics;
- Communicate with you and provide support;
- Prevent fraud and protect security;
- Enforce our Terms of Service and comply with law;
- Personalize your experience and send marketing (with your choices respected); and
- Fulfill other purposes you authorize or that are permitted by law.
Our disclosure of personal data
We may disclose personal data as follows:
- Within Haven Group: Among Haven entities for purposes consistent with this notice.
- Business partners: At your direction, to agents, lenders, property managers, builders, and similar professionals to fulfill your requests (e.g., contact details and search history when you ask to tour a home or contact an agent).
- Advertising and marketing partners: For marketing and interest-based advertising—see below.
- Service providers: Vendors who perform services for us (hosting, email, payments, analytics, fraud prevention, customer support), under contract restrictions.
- Business operations: Legal, tax, accounting, and similar professional advisers.
- Business transactions: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, financing, or asset sales.
- Legal obligations and rights: To comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights and safety, and prevent fraud.
- With your consent or direction: Including when you post public reviews or comments.
Choices about your data
Profile access and sharing. You may access and update profile information in your account settings where available.
Geolocation and device permissions. You may decline or withdraw precise location access in device or browser settings. We may still infer approximate location from IP address.
Promotional email. Unsubscribe using links in our emails or account settings. You may still receive transactional or service-related messages.

Regional rights. Residents of certain U.S. states and Kenya may have additional rights—see Region-specific disclosures, U.S. state privacy disclosures, and Kenya privacy disclosures below. Contact privacy@haven.com to exercise rights.
Third-party tracking and interest-based advertising
We may permit third-party advertising networks and partners to collect information about your use of our services over time to show you ads on our services and elsewhere. This often uses cookies and similar technologies and may involve device identifiers or hashed email addresses for cross-device recognition.
Your choices:
- Use Cookie Preferences (where linked in our website footer) to manage cookies.
- On mobile devices, use Limit Ad Tracking (iOS) or Opt out of Ads Personalization (Android).
- Visit industry opt-out tools such as the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance.
- Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) where supported—our cookie tools should honor applicable opt-out signals for that browser/device.
Opt-outs are browser- and device-specific; you may need to renew choices if you clear cookies or use a new device.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, including:
- The period you maintain an account or use our services;
- Legal, tax, and regulatory requirements in the United States, Kenya, and other applicable jurisdictions;
- Dispute resolution and enforcement of our agreements; and
- Litigation holds and regulatory investigations.
When retention is no longer necessary, we delete or de-identify data. Backup copies may persist for a limited period until deleted in the ordinary course of restoration.
Professional tools for agents
Some Haven services for real estate professionals (such as lead and client management tools) may process personal data about consumers who interact with those professionals through Haven. If you connect with an agent through Haven and that agent uses Haven professional tools, data collected in those tools may be subject to this Privacy Notice as described here and to the professional’s own privacy practices. Contact the professional for questions about their use of your data in their systems.
Children’s personal data
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact privacy@haven.com and we will take steps to delete it.
Region-specific disclosures
We may provide different disclosures where required by law.
- United States: See U.S. state privacy disclosures below.
- Kenya: See Kenya privacy disclosures below.
- Nevada: Nevada residents may opt out of certain sales of covered information—email privacy@haven.com.
Third-party websites
Our services may link to third-party sites or services. Except where we expressly adopt this Privacy Notice, their practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party personal data practices.
Updates to this privacy notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top when we do. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated notice.

U.S. state privacy disclosures
These disclosures supplement the Privacy Notice for residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws. Capitalized terms used here have the meanings in the Privacy Notice unless stated otherwise.
Additional disclosures
We disclose the categories of personal data described in Our collection and use of personal data to the categories of recipients described in Our disclosure of personal data.
Sales and targeted advertising. Disclosures to advertising networks, social networks, and marketing partners may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising under some state laws. We do not sell personal data of individuals we know are under 18.
Sensitive information. Where we collect sensitive information (such as account credentials, government ID for verification, or precise geolocation with consent), we use it only for purposes described in this notice, to provide services, comply with law, protect safety, or with your consent. We do not sell sensitive information or use it for targeted advertising.
De-identified information. We may create de-identified data and commit not to re-identify it except as permitted by law.
Your privacy choices (U.S. states)
Depending on your state, you may have rights to:
- Know what personal data we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share;
- Access and obtain a copy of your personal data;
- Correct inaccurate personal data;
- Delete personal data we hold about you;
- Opt out of sales or sharing for targeted advertising;
- Limit use of sensitive personal data; and
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To submit a request, email privacy@haven.com or use account settings where available. We may verify your identity before responding. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authority.
Opt-out of sales/sharing for advertising: Use Cookie Preferences on our website footer, enable GPC where supported, or email privacy@haven.com. Log in before submitting where possible so we can apply your choice across devices tied to your account.
Appeals: If we deny a request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@haven.com with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line.
California-specific disclosures
Categories of personal data (California): We collect identifiers, customer records, protected classification characteristics (where you provide them), commercial information, internet/network activity, geolocation, sensory information (e.g., call recordings where permitted), professional information, sensitive information (as defined by California law), inferences, and other information you provide. Sources and purposes are described in Our collection and use of personal data. We disclose these categories as described in Our disclosure of personal data.
Shine the Light: California residents may request information about certain sharing of personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To opt out of this type of sharing, email privacy@haven.com with “California Shine the Light” in the subject line.
California Consumer Privacy Act metrics: We will publish required metrics in our annual privacy report or upon request where applicable.
Kenya privacy disclosures
This section applies to individuals in Kenya under the Data Protection Act, 2019 and regulations of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
Legal bases. We process personal data based on consent, contract performance, legal obligation, vital interests, and legitimate interests (such as improving services and preventing fraud), as applicable.
Your rights may include the right to:
- Be informed of processing;
- Access your personal data;
- Object to processing;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete personal data;
- Restrict processing;
- Data portability; and
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
To exercise rights, contact privacy@haven.com. You may lodge a complaint with the ODPC if you believe our processing violates Kenyan law.
Cross-border transfers. We may transfer personal data to the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. We implement appropriate safeguards as required by Kenyan law.
Data retention. We retain data as described in Retention, consistent with Kenyan requirements.
Automated decision-making. We do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects without appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
